The Paradox of Porn (pt 2) w/ Don Shewey

Don Shewey’s latest book, THE PARADOX OF PORN: Notes on Gay Male Sexual Culture, takes an insightful look at how porn has played a role in our identity and sexual development as gay men.

It looks at the benefits of porn as well as the destructive tendencies it can have on our lives and relationships.

In part 1, we discuss the basics of this paradox while part 2 goes into some of the questions of how we can navigate our lives with porn.

Don’s contributions into how we understand gay-male identity cannot be overstated, and this book does not disappoint. I highly recommend it for anyone who has ever looked at porn.

The Three-Minute Game w/ Harry Faddis

The Three-Minute Game is one of my favorite things in life. It is so simple but so incredibly profound in what you can learn about yourself.

It was invented by Harry Faddis.

We spoke to Harry in the previous episode about his involvement in creating spiritual & erotic spaces for queer men including those with the Body Electric School, the Gay Coaches Alliance, and as a founding member of Easton Mountain Retreat Center. All of these institutions have been monumental in providing a unique space for queer men to experience a more full, erotic, and spiritual life.

In this episode, we go deep into the Three-Minute Game. If you don’t know the game, it involves two people and two questions:

  • What do you want me to do to you? (for 3 minutes)

  • What do you want to do to me? (for 3 minutes)

It is incredible the amount of information you can download about yourself from these simple two questions. We dive into this and more in the episode. Enjoy!

The Power of Seeing Your Body w/ Gaston Lacombe

In this interview I interview Gaston Lacombe about his work photographing men and how vulnerability and shame play such a big part in how we view and value ourselves.

Gaston Lacombe is an artist based in Provincetown, MA, where he runs his own studio and art gallery. His work is a unique mixed-media approaches to photography, often by combining it with other techniques, such as drawing and painting. For the last few years, his main subject of interest has been portraits of men.

You can check out more of his work on his website, and I highly recommend that you follow him on Instagram where he posts regularly on his work and life in Provincetown.

Manifesting thru Your Erotic

Getting to the heart of our true wants and desires so that we can manifest them is tough.

There are, of course, many ways to do this. But for me and many of my clients, I’ve found that tapping into our sexual energy can be an efficient way to dive deeper into our bodies to better understand our intuition and desires.
